Built in the mid-eighteenth century, Casale is what is called a "casino" - a hunting house belonging to a well-to-do family who would use it to get away from town to spend the late summer and autumn there with family and guests. It had been abandoned for thirty years when Crispin Mason found it and fell in love with a ruin in a stunning situation on the edge of a bluff looking across the valley to the Sibillini mountains of Le Marche. He has slowly and carefully restored the main house taking pains to preserve the character of the buildings, and even made the furniture himself from locally grown wood. Casale is truly unique. You can relax on the terraces or wander round twentyfive acres of woodland and fields. The three ensuite bedrooms are spacious and look out in two directions at wonderful views. There is a very large comfortable sittingroom for the use of bed and breakfast guests. You can ask for tea or coffee at any time, help yourself to drinks and leave him a note! The idea is to relax and enjoy your precious time at Casale. Crispin is an extremely accomplished cook who enjoys having guests at home, and likes nothing better than preparing dinner for you. Almost all the food is home grown organic produce.
