Scrofiano, Sinalunga, Siena Youth Hostel accommodation

Scofiano is a small village on a hillside which was once an ancient fortress for one of the most important families in its history and which is now the base for the youth hostel. It is an environment where signs of the time are still visible and where the sign of man who first built this landscape fortunately recognised and respected its characteristics and peculiarities. The youth hostel Asinalonga is absorbed amongst green woods and olive trees, while fields of wheat and sunflowers colour the ancient lowlands which were once part of the swampland and where you can still admire the beautiful agricultural houses that were once the economic and social fulcrum of this territory right up to the postwar period. In the surrounding areas you can still find particulary significant testimonies of the Roman era and Sienna's renowed art. The youth hostel offers the possibility to use the nearly sporting facilities and the Park which is equipped for music and entertainement. To reach the youth hostel it is possible to take either the A1 motorway (exit Valdichiana) or the route from Siena-Perugia that also connects easily to Arezzo and nearly Umbria. Also not far away is the Val D'Orcia, Pienza and also San Quirico d'Orcia and Montepulciano
